OK, so why fiftyohm?  This has originated from my work with fifty-ohm (50W) impedance matching systems to tune various reactive loads to fixed impedance industrial power supplies.   These Radio Frequency (RF) power supplies are either solid-state or hybrid (solid state driven valve amplifiers) ranging from a few Watts to 10's of kilowatts.  Hence the name fiftyohm.....

Here are some examples of previous work (that I can disclose):

• High-speed & High 'Q' impedance matching,
• Optimisation of matching configuration and components (workload and network via modelling),
• Phase & Magnitude relationships during tuning,
• Network Analyser characterisation,
• Modelling.

Many benefits are offered from this relatively new application of 50W Solid-State RF technology in dielectric heating, that has ultimately been technology-transferred from the semi-conductor processing industry.  Such benefits have been experienced in today's industrial processing markets where key players are looking to differentiate themselves from the competition.
